One of the original founders of the NZOSS. Free software advocate since 1998 (the end of OS/2 and the beginning of Linux on the Mainframe). Running Linux on IBM kit became easier once token ring and SNA died and it's been a breeze ever since. Supported IBM's Linux & Open Source strategy and customers from 2000 to 2015 including the major banks, travel and transport and entertainment including Weta Digital. Supported IBM's internal worldwide Linux desktop rollout in NZ running local mirror servers and generally providing viable alternatives to the mind numbing onslaught of MS Windows based software.
