In July, Dave Lane resigned from the Council of the New Zealand Open Source Society.
Dave is a stalwart of free and open source software in New Zealand. Among many other achievements, Dave was the President of the society for 9 years. Throughout that period, Dave has been (and continues to be!) an integral component of the society's operations, often single-handedly maintaining its technical infrastructure and advocacy work.
We'll find a way to say thank you properly.
In the mean time, I hope that this small note will suffice. Thanks Dave. Without you, the society would have crumbled many years ago.
