Online Meetups now happen at https://meeting.iridescent.nz

For folks interested in attending our monthly FOSS/Libre 'meetings' (meetups, gatherings, sessions, etc.) which are (post-Covid) now virtual and open to folks anywhere, you can find us (starting tomorrow, Tues 10 December 2024, 20:00)  at https://meeting.iridescent.nz  That URL will redirect you to the video conference room for the month.

Tomorrow's meeting will be the first one to take place on our new BigBlueButton instance (talk.iridescent.nz) and we can look through it as part of the meeting.

Generally, we meet at 20:00 on the second Tuesday of the month - we meet virtually, and discuss whatever open or libre or free software or open source software questions or current events the people there have! Occasionally we have pre-planned presentations, but generally we have ad hoc discussion and interesting presentations of things people are doing or have learned since the last meeting! It's an open discussion, and we welcome beginners and the curious as well as long-timers.

Stuff we discuss most months:

  • Linux
  • Android & devices
  • Cloud computing
  • Self hosting
  • Employment/opportunities
  • Digital education
  • Home automation
  • Politics & government policy
  • Software tools and development practices
  • Software stacks
  • IoT
  • Security
  • Docker/Containerisation

and lots of other stuff. If you're interested, come and join us!
