Open source at the White House.
While the turmoil of the last few weeks in the US might seem like the main event it really is just a sideshow... and the new President is busy naming the people who are going to help him with the main event... including David Recordon as White House Director of Technology.
David has some serious open source chops to his name and this is in fact his second time round in this sort of role. While he may not have any direct influence over federal technology policy he seems to be well regarded by the incoming administration. The open source community gives him a bit of credit as well, being inclined to forgive his association with Facebook. General assessment is one of the good guys.
Good luck to him. Hopefully he will continue to deliver to the open source ideals!
