Accounts 2011

The financial accounts for the New Zealand Open Source Society for the year ending March 31 2011 are attached.

We received $795 in subscriptions, $5,040 in donations and $46.96 in interest for a total of $5881.96. We acted as banker for the Wellington SFD 2010 event and received income of $3,105.73 in support of that effort. Combined, these give our total revenue of $8,987.69

Our total expenses for the year were $508.88 which, against income of $5,881.96, leaves a profit of $5373.08. The SFD 2010 expenses at $3279.80 against income of $3105.73 gives a slight loss of $174.07. Applying that loss to our profit gives the final net income figure of $5199.01. I would recommend treating that loss as a donation to the SFD effort.

We are still carrying $500 in escrow for GOVIS.

We ended the year with total assets of $12,201.23 against the 2010 end of year result of $7,002.22.

We would like to thank all those who have contributed to the finances of the NZOSS throughout the year. As has happened in previous years, we are aware of other small expenses that have been incurred by individual members from time to time throughout the year who have chosen not to present their receipts for reimbursement. We would like to acknowledge the choice that those members have taken and again we express our appreciation.
